Terms & Conditions

Shining Star Productions runs three  terms a year and follows local education authority term dates from September to July each year, However we also hold workshops during school holidays.

 

1. PAYMENTS

1.1) All fees are payable strictly in advance. 

 

1.2) If you have enquired about a class or workshop but have not sent a deposit or payment then your child's place will not be secured. 

 

1.3) A full 2 weeks notice IN WRITING is required for pupils terminating their classes at Shining Star Productions. Pupils leaving the school without such notice being given are liable for a half a terms fees. Most of our classes now have a waiting list and we need to give families on the waiting list enough notice which is why we ask parents to confirm if their child will be returning in advance. 

 

1.4) Once you have paid a deposit for a workshop this deposit is non refundable. 

 

1.5)  If you have paid a deposit for a workshop the full amount need to be paid a week before the workshop. 

 

1.6) A full 2 weeks notice IN WRITING is required for pupils who can no longer attend a workshop at Shining Star Productions. Pupils no longer attending a workshop without such notice are liable for the remaining workshop fee.

2. REFUNDS

2.1)  We regret we cannot offer refunds for classes or workshops missed for any reason. 

 

2.2) Pupils are expected to attend their classes punctually and regularly and to bring appropriate scripts when necessary.

2.3) If your child wishes to cancel during an active term then a refund will not be given.

2.4) We reserve the right to cancel any club any time up to and including the date the course starts. Should this occur we will endeavour to give you at least 24 hours notice and will attempt to offer you a viable alternative or will offer you credit of any fee paid for a future term. We will take every possible step to prevent your class being cancelled.

2.5) Classes that are cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances may be “made up” where possible. However this is at Shining Star Productions own discretion.

2.6) Should it be necessary to close the School on account of epidemic, pandemic, national crisis, or any other circumstances over which Shining Star Productions has no control, fees cannot be returned nor compensation made for period of schooling lost.

3. HEALTH

3.1)  Children should not attend a workshop unwell. If a child is unwell or sick then we reserve the right to send the child home immediately and no refund will be given. 

3.2) Students participate at their own risk, parents are responsible to inform Shining Star Productions and its staff of any existing injuries or medical condition. Apart from normal First Aid, no medications are to be administered by staff.

3.3) In the unlikely case of an accident an ambulance will be called immediately as well as the parent. 

3.4) The School does not accept responsibility for any damage to loss of property or injury sustained by pupils on the the premises the classes take place ( Cox Green Community Centre, Burnham Park Hall or Braywick Leisure Centre ) unless caused by the negligence of the School. 

4. DROP OFF AND COLLECTION

4.1) Please ensure students are dropped off/picked up on time. Pupils will be registered by a teacher upon arrival. Children will not be allowed to walk home alone or stand outside the building to wait for pickup unless written parental consent has been received by Shining Star Productions. Shining Star Productions requires an emergency telephone number for any child attending sessions. 

 

4,2) If a child is late being collected several times then we have the right to remove them from the class. 

4.3) If a child misses several classes without a reason then we have the right to remove them from the class.

5. COMMITMENT/ SHOWS

5.1) All pupils must take part in performances in theatres or outside to the public. We give plenty of notice and do not charge children to be in our shows. 

5.2) If you have purchased tickets for a show and can no longer make it then a refund will not be given. 

5.3) Parents are responsible to make sure children are dropped and collected on time for  all rehearsals and the show. Uniform must be ready for the child to wear at the dress rehearsal. 

6.UNIFORM

6.1) Shining Star Production t shirts are now compulsory to wear to classes. 

6.2) Unfortunately If a parent orders the wrong size item an exchange or refund can not be given as this is ordered from a supplier and not directly via ourselves. 

7. PHOTOS/ VIDEOS / SOCIAL MEDIA

7.1) Should you not wish for your child to be photographed, videoed or acknowledged on social media please advise in writing.

7.2) All photos and videos are used strictly for advertising purposes or posted directly on our social media pages for family and friends to enjoy.

8. BEHAVIOUR / BULLYING

8.1) Shining Star Productions does not tolerate bullying or anti-social behaviour of any kind. ALL reported circumstances will be investigated, followed up and dealt with at the discretion of the club.

8.2) Any verbal or physical abuse by a child to another child or teacher will result in the child being sent home from classes or workshops immediately and no refund will be given. 

9. CHILD PROTECTION

Child Protection Shining Star Productions is fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of its participants. Staff and Volunteers should be fully aware of the organisation's Child Safety guidelines.
